Repeatedly opening and saving jpeg image files will result in deterioration of the image.
So if your digital camera takes pictures in the jpeg format - and many do - copy the files to your hard drive,open them in an image editor's native format.
The way,you can often avoid the worry and probability the your images will suffer from multiple alterations.
